Collective Genus Labor Day Projections

Collective Genus’ first public project commenced on Friday, September 4th and ran through Monday September 7th, 2020, from 7pm–10pm. Images and video works by the member artists were projected onto screens visible from the street at various locations around San Francisco.

These “screenings” happened simultaneously each evening for four evenings, offering free access to physically distanced art viewing to folks on their evening walk, bike rides, or driving by, no matter where they live.

The format of the event intended to engage communities across the city in an outdoor and flexible format. The goal, given the context of the global pandemic, was to realize the safety and accessibility of an online exhibition, while maintaining the elements of space and place of a more traditional in-person format.

My work is visible at the 2:30 mark.
